Our approach to community related projects reflects our firm’s values and approach to client service, and is custom-designed around people.
We have a long and proud history of involvement in our local communities. We work hard to make a positive impact on the diverse cultures, peoples and communities in which we live, work and learn.
We use our community projects and associations to support a variety of causes. Many of these projects have clear and tangible educational, cultural and legal benefits. We endeavour to support charities through pro bono work at a strategic and operational level, which strive to address social issues that do not ordinarily receive government or corporate funding.
As a firm we give 1% of pre-tax profits, along with time to community investment related activities every year and we give every single member of the firm a day to volunteer to support local good causes.
We have CSR partnerships with two children’s charities, The Rock Trust and Children in Scotland, and we have developed a programme of fundraising, community projects and legal support projects to provide benefit to the charities themselves and the good work they do in the communities.
We also provide Children in Scotland’s members (c200 members) and Veterans Scotland charity members (c50 members) with a free legal helpline in addition to regular update sessions to ensure that they have access to the legal guidance they require on a day to day basis.

We also actively encourage our people to become strategically involved with charities by taking up positions as charity trustees. Their sharp legal and conscientious minds are ideally placed to help the charities develop solutions and approaches which will enable them to continue their good work in a tighter fiscal environment.
