Training & Development
Our people make Gillespie Macandrew the success that it is. Each member of staff has the opportunity to take part in training via the in-house training programme which includes a wide range of business skills and IT training. In addition, there are many opportunities for external learning and development, dependant upon need. We will ensure that your skills are developed, your knowledge expanded and your expertise continually refined in order that you are fully equipped to perform your role with confidence.

"I was employed by Gillespie Macandrew
in August 2007 as a Finance Assistant working in the Support
Services Department. To help me have a better understanding of the
opportunities at Gillespie Macandrew, my Line Manager pointed me in
the direction of The Scottish Law Accountants of Scotland course
(SOLAS).
Each unit of the course studied helps me with the day to day business within my department; it also gives me a wider knowledge of what goes on in other departments within the company and will be a stepping stone should I wish to take my career to a higher level with Gillespie Macandrew.
The support I have received during the course has been incredible. If I require further help with certain areas of each unit members of that department are only too willing to help".
"After spending two
years working in general commercial litigation, I developed a
particular interest in contentious construction work.
Gillespie Macandrew encouraged me to complete the LLM course
in Construction Law at Strathclyde University.
This is a multi-discipline course attended by construction professionals with diverse professional backgrounds. Working as a team on practical assignments is an enjoyable way of building up contacts and knowledge of construction law. Within our firm, seminars in related disciplines build up good working relationships through shared knowledge of our chosen industry sectors.
Ongoing training and attendance at business development events helps me to develop my skills and understand the points of view of clients.
