Leaders in their Field at Gillespie Macandrew
Four Partners identified by Chambers 2008

Four Gillespie Macandrew lawyers have been listed as ‘Leaders in the Field’ by Chambers 2008, A Client’s Guide to the Legal Directory.

As well as winning the Scottish Legal Awards’ Law Firm of the Year 2007, Gillespie Macandrew can now also boast the inclusion of four of its top partners into the industry-leading index, an increase from previous years.

A new addition to the directory for 2008 is Litigation partner Andrew Williams who has been recognised as a leader in the field of Licensing.

Head of Private Client, partner Tom Murray specialises in the Charity sector, for which he has been selected as a leader in that particular field. A further two inclusions in Chambers’ Leaders in the Field are Christian Melville and Robert Scott-Dempster, partners in Private Client and Agriculture and Rural Affairs, respectively; all three of whom have featured in previous annual Leader in the Field directories.

Christian Melville

  • Additionally involved with advising adults with incapacity legislation, with special focus on powers of attorney and guardianship
  • Editor of Succession section of Buttersworth ‘Scottish Older Client Law Service’

Robert Scott-Dempster

  • Specialises in Agricultural Holdings, Purchase and Sale of Farms and Estates, Forestry, Sportings and Salmon Fishings. Commercial Land Aspects including residential developments, windfarms, minerals and fishfarms
  • Speaks at professional seminars and conferences on Agricultural Holdings and Nature Conservation law. 
  • Advises on the full range of new Scottish legislation affecting the rural sector
