Associate, Litigation & Dispute Resolution
Specialising in employment law, John uses his experience,
knowledge and enthusiasm to provide practical and comprehensive
advice to both employers and employees in all areas of the
employment relationship including contracts, procedures,
discipline, grievance, redundancy, sickness absence, business
transfers and dismissals. He also represents clients in raising or
defending claims before the Employment Tribunal and the Employment
Appeals Tribunal.
John joined Gillespie Macandrew in 2007 from another prominent
litigation firm in Edinburgh and has specific expertise in
negotiating the resolution of disputes between employers and senior
employees following a breakdown of the relationship. He advises a
wide range of clients within the agricultural, charity,
manufacturing and services sectors.
John is a member of the Employment Law Group and the Employment
Law Association. He is the midfield anchorman of the firm's hockey
team and a keen golfer.
