Alistair specialises in assisting and supporting his
clients through their property purchases. He has significant
experience of advising clients within the rural sector, where he
works mainly with individuals but also with several large
investment companies. He has particular
experience of forest, sporting estate and farm purchases, and
has advised on several major purchases for clients within the
past year. A significant portion of his client base is
overseas, and he works in particular with Scandinavian clients.
Alistair also works within the commercial property sector,
where his focus is on buying investment properties,
including shopping centres and mixed use developments as
investment properties, including a large one on George Street,
Edinburgh. Alistair has also recently advised on the
acquisition of development sites for care
homes.
Alistair sits on the Rural Affairs Sub-Committee of the
Law Society and is a member of the Agricultural Law
Association. He is also a member of the Society of Trust and
Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the WS Society where he has been a
committee member.
In his free time, Alistair is a trustee for several
charities and is heavily involved with the Royal Scottish National
Orchestra. He is also a keen Scottish country dancer and
attends many balls throughout Scotland. He loves to ski and
play guitar.
