David deals with legal queries across a broad spectrum of agricultural, rural and energy projects specifically the acquisition and disposal of complex farms, landed estates and commercial forests (for both individuals and funds) and the intricacies of agricultural holdings legislation for both tenant and landlord. David also assists in relation to major on-shore wind projects, rural property restructuring in regard to succession planning, crofting law and high value estate management for multiple clients across the country.
David has a particular expertise in agricultural banking and conveyancing, the operation of rural businesses, advising New Entrants to agriculture, and has specific interest in the evolution of Scottish agriculture post-Brexit in relation to the Basic Payment Scheme and CAP funding. David’s rural background along with his appetite for the future of the agricultural sector places him well to understand the pressures of our rural clients and their goals for the future.
