Elspeth PagetPartner, Head of Private Client
Elspeth is a Partner and the Head of our Private Client team.
She specialises in elderly client law and also advises charities and their members on the importance of estate planning and establishing powers of attorney and guardianship.
Elspeth is an active member of the UK organisation, Solicitors for the Elderly.
Elspeth contributed legal input to the Scottish edition of 'Safe and Secure' which was produced by Equal Futures and offers readers step-by-step advice for families caring for people with disabilities.
She has also tutored in the Diploma of Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh.
Elspeth’s clients describe her as extremely approachable and they value her ability to explain the law to them in straightforward language.
She was previously a Partner of Bennett & Robertson for over 15 years, before joining Gillespie Macandrew in 2004 through merger.
Over the years, Elspeth has dealt with a large number of executry estates and is now working often with the third generations of families who have remained clients. She acts as a professional Financial Guardian for a number of clients with incapacity and operates powers of attorney for a large number of clients who have not got relatives near at hand. She has assisted many in plans for their later years.
Memberships and accreditations
Elspeth is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and holds the STEP Advanced Certificate in International Probate and Succession.
She is one of the few Scottish full professional members of the nationwide organisation "Solicitors for the Elderly" which specialises in advice for elderly clients and their carers. She is also a member of the Nation Council for Scotland of Contact-a-Family.
