Gillespie Macandrew LLP is a leading Scottish Law Firm with 29 partners and a further 120 lawyers. We have offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth, providing a broad platform from which to provide legal support to our clients. Incorporated into an LLP in 2005, Gillespie Macandrew has been advising clients on matters for over 100 years.
We are recognised leaders in a number of sectors including land and rural, real estate property, energy and private client. We advise clients across the full range of legal services, providing advice on property, corporate, commercial and charity matters, together with litigation and dispute resolution services and employment, combining a personal approach with industry-leading expertise and commercial awareness.

Advancing the UN SDGs
Central to our ESG strategy is our alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The United Nations set out the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015. These are a set of 17 objectives aimed at eradicating poverty, conserving the environment, and achieving peace and wellbeing for everyone by the year 2030. These goals are interconnected, acknowledging that progress in one area influences others. The focus is on a balanced approach that considers social, economic, and environmental factors.
We have chosen four UN Sustainable Development Goals to focus on, which we feel best reflect and align with our ESG ambitions. The goals we have chosen to focus on are:

Environmental
At Gillespie Macandrew, our commitment to the environment is integral to our operations, with a clear target to achieve Net Zero by 2035. We are reducing our environmental footprint by minimising climate impacts, optimising energy use, and curbing pollution. GM in the Community
We have a long and proud history of community involvement and support a variety of causes through community projects and associations. In each of the last 8 years, we donated the equivalent of 1% of our annual pre-tax profits to our charity partners – in total we have donated over £300,000 to local Scottish Charities.
Volunteering at Gillespie Macandrew
In addition, each member of staff is given a paid day of leave each year to volunteer to support local causes and the firm also supports charities through pro bono work at a strategic and operational level.
In 2024 we are looking at ways to expand our volunteering support to local causes.
Ethical Business

ESG Impact Report 2024
We have published our first public and formal ESG Impact Report with the aim to be entirely transparent on our ESG journey. We have shared a clear and detailed benchmark of where we have come from, where we are today and where we strive to reach.
International Network
Lexwork International is a trusted referral network consisting of high-quality independent law firms across the Americas, Europe and Asia. The firm has been a member since 1995 and has significant experience of co-ordinating international projects and transactions.
