Alan has a particular interest in crofting law, renewable energy schemes and mineral extraction. He also has significant expertise in the area of community right to buy and the ongoing land reform agenda.
Alan is regularly involved in the sale and purchase of commercial forestry, as well as farms and estates and advises a number of clients on ongoing management issues such as agricultural holdings, crofting, as well as business structuring and succession planning. Alan provides specialist advice in respect of agricultural holdings and crofting to a number of other Scottish law firms, renewable energy developers as well as to both private and institutional landowners.
