Louise is an experienced private client solicitor who advises clients on all aspects of private client work including preparing Wills, Powers of Attorney and guardianships, executry administration, estate planning, trusts and tax matters.
Louise prides herself on being a conscientious and trusted advisor, who provides legal advice in a clear and approachable manner.
Louise is a notary public and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) having completed the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates during which she received an Excellence award for the STEP Advanced Certificate in Wills and Executries.
Sector experience includes:
- Advising clients on the potential IHT exposure on their estates including the impact of the proposed changes to rules on pensions and the difference in the position if they are married or unmarried;
- Advising on cross-border estates; assessing domicile and advising executors on IHT liabilities, reporting requirements and the documentation required to apply for Confirmation;
- Providing advice to the executors of a non-domiciled individual’s estate on the availability of Agricultural and Business Property Reliefs on woodlands owned by the deceased;
- Advising trustees on the administration and winding up of a trust holding an offshore bond and completing the required IHT reporting;
- Assisting with business succession planning matters including preparation of partnership documentation
