Margaret L Day

Legal Director, Energy & Strategic Land

Margaret is a specialist in commercial property work with a specialist focus on all types of transactional conveyancing, including leasing.  She has developed supportive relationships with a number of long-standing clients of the firm.   More recently, Margaret has increased her involvement in development and energy-related projects.

As a legal adviser to a Scottish charity, Margaret enjoys addressing the issues raised in her variety of work – and achieving solutions for her clients.   The range of her experience has made her familiar with some of the “byways” of Scottish conveyancing which can have real (and sometimes surprising) relevance to current issues.

Sector experience includes:

  • Completing property work on acquisition of a major central belt rail freight terminal base for an established client;
  • Investigating and providing detailed reporting on impact of past land use on current site potential and liabilities for an extensive former industrial site;
  • Addressing leasing arrangements for multiple clients across their portfolios;
  • Acting for sellers and purchasers of several sites for redevelopment;
  • Acting for a major utility supplier in agreements for servitudes and ancillary rights over land to assist completion of major grid expansions.
