At Gillespie Macandrew our Business Support teams play crucial roles in our firm, ensuring that the legal teams can focus on delivering high-quality legal services to clients while the Business Support teams handle the administrative and operational tasks that keep the firm running smoothly. They provide essential support functions such as managing the office, handling finances and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
The Billing team as part of the wider finance team are responsibility for providing efficient and effective support to fee earners across the firm with the complete feeing and billing process.
We now have an excellent opportunity for a Billing Assistant to join our Finance team based in the Edinburgh office. Working as part of a busy team, some of the typical duties and responsibilities will include preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual fee notes/bills and related schedules, assisting with fee reviews for various fee earners and groups, supporting the broader finance team with a range of financial administrative tasks, and providing any necessary additional training for colleagues across the firm.
This role requires a candidate with:
- A proactive and flexible approach
- Great attention to detail, practical, methodical and process driven
- Strong numeracy skills
- Previous experience in a similar role within a busy finance environment is preferred, it is not a requirement
- Experience in the Legal sector or professional services is beneficial but not essential
- A strong focus on client service with the willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge, including Microsoft Office & Excel
- Experience with iManage document management and 3E practice management systems would also be an advantage
