Our Business Support teams play crucial roles in our firm, ensuring that the legal teams can focus on delivering high-quality legal services to clients while the Business Support teams handle the administrative and operational tasks that keep the firm running smoothly. They provide essential support functions such as managing the office, handling finances and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
The finance team plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the law firm by providing strategic financial guidance, maintaining financial controls, and supporting operational efficiency.
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Management Accountant. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties including deputising for the Head of Finance when necessary, assisting with the annual budget process, preparing monthly management accounts (including accruals and prepayment adjustments), and producing monitoring reports for review by senior management.
Additional responsibilities will include taking a lead on the firm’s annual account audit and reviewing ledger postings to ensure accurate monitoring of actual versus budget variances.
The ideal candidate will have strong data interrogation skills to assist in the preparation of management information and reports, as well as the ability to develop and maintain a suite of management reports. Experience with VAT submissions, maintaining supporting schedules, and supporting accounting and reporting platform changes will be essential.
This role requires a highly motivated, proactive and commercially minded team player with excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to effectively plan and manage a high and varied workload are essential. The ideal candidate will have an accountancy qualification and related legal experience although other relevant experience will be considered. You will have a good understanding of legal finance operations, including Billing, A/P, credit control and client accounts and a dexterous knowledge of the Microsoft software suite as well as other legal accounting systems. Experience with iManage document management and 3E practice management systems would be an advantage but is not necessary.
